Once connected to an NZXT RGB Header, you'll be able to control the Kraken and any daisy chained devices via the NZXT CAM software.

Now I wonder, how long until the next problem stemming from this awful, awful bloatware arises.Depending on how your Kraken 120 cooler is connected to your PC, you will either need to control the cooler through either the NZXT CAM software or through your motherboard’s specific RGB control software.įor systems using an NZXT N7 series motherboard, RGB & Fan Controller, or Hue 2 controller it is recommended to have the Kraken 120 attached to an available NZXT RGB header. Up until now I had always been happy with Asus products, but this has been a big disappointment. I cannot recommend ASUS boards to anyone after this experience and am in fact that close to returning the board and picking up the MSI one instead. This software is a GIGANTIC piece of scorching hot garbage, that seemingly overwrites BIOS settings and doesn't let go of it afterwards. It seems that, indeed, simply booting up Armoury Crate was the mistake I made. What is WRONG with Asus' software suite, JESUS!!!ĮDIT II: restoring Windows to a previous state, before launching Armoury Crate, worked. Is this a known issue, and if yes, is there a known fix to this? Otherwise, what would you suggest I try?ĮDIT: uninstalling Armoury Crate makes all my fans go 100% speed, no matter the BIOS settings. Seems like Armoury Crate has overwritten my custom fan settings. Nothing I could see or do in Armoury Crate seems to fix it. However, as soon as I exit BIOS and enter desktop, the two "AIO header-plugged" case fans start raging, 1100RPM minimum speed while the rest of the fans (2x CPU fans and 2x top case fans) are at around 500-700 RPM and are very silent.

I've tried coming and going to the BIOS multiple times now to smooth out the curve, make it a more gentle one (by now it's very, very gentle, flat more like), and while I'm in BIOS, my fans are indeed inaudible. Clicked back on standard mode, but since then, it feels my custom settings for my fans is messed up completely. So I got curious, launched Armoury Crate to see what it was all about, and clicked on the "full speed" fan setting, just for s***s and giggles. I should point out I plugged two NF-P12 redux as case fans on the AIO pump header on the MB, and had to make the curve myself, which took a bit of time, first time doing this, but eventually I managed and it was silent as can be. Before that, my fan settings were great, very silent and cooling-efficient. Yesterday night I powered up Armoury Crate for the first time since I built my new rig.
